Bullying online is a helpline for children and parents affected by bullying and is a part of the Family Lives organisation. See www.bullying.co.uk for support. Stories like these that show that if your children are suffering through bullying, they are not alone and neither are you. There are things that you can do, and as we have recently discovered, changing your child's school when you have tried sorting it out with school and it hasn't worked, is very easy if there are places. We went to look at a school, our son was given an outstanding welcome and today, the very next day, he is enrolled there.
'If there's a place is a big 'if' for Oakdale parents, especially those without a car, I know, but if you are in that situation, the Family Lives team here can help you talk to the teachers and heads of the schools and empower you to make an informed decision for yourself. There is also transport help from the County Council, but it does depend on income. Even if you don't qualify for help, there may be a car share scheme at the school you would like your child to go to. You shouldn't ever be in a position where you can't do anything about it, but I know it can feel like that sometimes. People are there and can help you. Talk to them if you need to. If you want someone to go with you, get in touch and someone from the residents' association will come along.
