Listening to Radio Gloucester on the way back home, I was amused to discover that a high vis jacket for chickens has been very successful with runaway sales figures. It is only a matter of time before my idea for genetically engineering sheep with a gene from a glow worm so that their wool glows in the dark takes off. You heard it hear first. Buy shares in companies conducting Luciferase research. Wouldn't that look much better in the Forest plus be handy for glow in the dark tops (of which my son is a big fan at the moment. He is spending too much time in the dark though, when he is wearing his space shuttle T shirt. Anyone who has read Harry Potter should proceed with caution when appropriating the hall cupboard for living space. I don't think we have any house elves. We have cats instead, who objected to our holiday by (a) going on hunger strike for two days, scaring the cat sitter (b) refusing to go out when she offered fresh air and exercise (c) peeing in a pair of shoes (d) throwing up in random locations. Pesky critturs.
Our friends' cat, Izzie, who was a gorgeous pedigree Tonkinese cat that I knew from kittenhood sadly died two days ago as she had an inoperable tumour and had to be put to sleep. Her brother got knocked down as a kitten when I was one of the cat sitters, which was horrendous. I painted their portrait in oils for my friends, who helped to make life bearable when I was living in a flat next to antisocial neighbours. Izzie has a surviving foster brother, who I hope is sharing cuddles between his two owners, who are of course bereft. We are thinking of you, Pete and Angela. x
